Chatterton Hall
The beautifully-equipped Chatterton Hall can accommodate up to 190 people at any one time, for functions and events ranging from House assemblies to welcome drinks and the Sixth Form Professional Projects showcase.
But did you ever wonder who it was named after?
Chatterton was Thomas Chatterton, the revered 'boy poet of Bristol', who was said to be an inspiration for such illustrious figures as Keats, Shelley and Wordsworth, to name just a few of the Romantic greats.
Thomas was born in Bristol and raised in Phippen Street, coming to school here at Collegiate (then named Colston's), before spending his final year in London, tragically taking his own life at the tender age of 17.
There is a collection of Chattertoniana in the British Library, and a statue of Chatterton can be found in Millennium Square in the centre of Bristol - pictured here, with Thomas holding our very own Chatterton the Bear in the palm of his hand.
