Collegiate School

Academic Excellence

Collegiate is a very special place to learn.

The driving force behind our exciting curriculum, and the supporting extra-curriculum, is the desire to have our students achieve their very best. We want them to receive excellent results in public examinations, but we appreciate that “excellent” is a relative term so we celebrate students achieving their very best grades, whatever they are, and every year our students achieve more than they ever thought possible.

By stimulating their intellectual curiosity, promoting the academic skills they need to be successful and allowing them the chance to fail, as well as to succeed, we prepare them for external examinations and for the challenges that lie beyond.

We want Collegiate pupils to understand how they work best and to be aware of their weaknesses, as well as their strengths. Consequently, time is spent focusing on study skills, resilience, the benefits of effort and we are not afraid to spend time working on activities that lie outside the narrow confines of the examination syllabus.

Our recent A Level, BTEC and CTEC results can be viewed HERE and click HERE for the latest GCSE results.

We stretch our most able students, through our High Achievers programme and in other ways, and provide additional support for anyone who finds the new rigorous GCSE courses very demanding.

We run an extensive programme of academic visits and trips to support academic progress and to build links with the real world. Popular visits have included language tours to Europe, history trips to Europe and America and, of course, the classic geography trip to Iceland.
