International Students
Collegiate has a successful track record in educating international students - we pride ourselves on providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all children.
We are however, not an international school and it is the responsibility of the parents to check that your child has the right, under their visa entry conditions, to study at our school.
Please contact our Admissions Manager Mrs Sally McCullough if you have any questions on this, by emailing admissions@collegiate.org.uk or calling +44 (0)117 992 3194.
EAL
EAL (English as an Additional Language) lessons are available as part of our support programme for international students. EAL lessons cover British culture to be able to pass any citizenship test; key vocabulary and grammar needed to pass the English required level; and we also offer general support with Collegiate's subjects, if required.
Pupils doing GCSEs find it particularly useful as a transition stage. At the end of the year, students will have the opportunity to pass a Cambridge English Examination depending of their levels, but they will only be able to do if they attend EAL lessons. We often have families choosing to have 1 or 2 hours of EAL per week, depending on the need of the student. These lessons are 1-to-1 and tailored to individual students.
Teaching the French Curriculum
For several years Collegiate has been one of the only schools in the area to offer the specialist CNED programme that offers French speaking pupils to follow both the French and English curriculum concurrently. Visit our dedicated CNED page to find out more.
